Where can I go with a support worker in Brisbane?
In Brisbane, a support worker can take you to parks, the river, markets, shopping centres, libraries and sport, and help you take part in a way that suits you.
Brisbane's warm weather makes outdoor outings easy for much of the year. South Bank Parklands has wide paths, gardens and the Streets Beach lagoon. Roma Street Parkland and the City Botanic Gardens are good for a gentle walk, and the lookout at Mount Coot-tha is a favourite for a drive.
Other ideas include:
- a CityCat ferry ride along the Brisbane River
- Brisbane City Council libraries, which run free groups and events
- watching the Broncos, Lions or Roar at Suncorp Stadium or the Gabba
- weekend markets and cultural events in places like Sunnybank and Inala
Summer gets hot and humid, so your worker will plan outings around shade, water and cooler times of day. Read about community participation.
How do support workers travel around Brisbane with participants?
Brisbane support workers travel with you on buses, trains and ferries using a go card or contactless payment, or drive you if transport support is in your plan.
Translink runs the network across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and the Redlands. Many buses are low-floor, and the CityCat ferries are a calm way to get around the inner city. Your worker can check accessible stations and help you plan trips that avoid long walks or tricky transfers.
If you hold a Queensland Companion Card, your worker may get free entry at participating venues and events. Check with the venue or transport operator before you head out.
Brisbane's outer suburbs are spread out, so some people rely on car travel for shopping or appointments. Talk to us about what your plan covers. Learn more about travel and transport support.
Do you deliver NDIS supports in regional and remote Queensland?
Yes. Enrichment Care supports participants across Queensland, including regional cities and remote towns, as long as we can find a suitable worker nearby.
Queensland is a big state. Cities like Townsville, Cairns, Toowoomba and Rockhampton have their own local workforce, while smaller and remote towns can take longer to staff. We recruit workers locally so you get someone who knows the area and can reach you reliably.
The NDIS uses the Modified Monash Model (MMM) to classify how remote a location is. In remote and very remote areas, NDIS price limits are higher to reflect the extra cost of delivering support. For example, the 2026-27 weekday daytime limit for self-care support is $103.01 an hour in remote areas and $110.37 in very remote areas.
Price limits are maximums, and providers can charge less. See our guide to NDIS price limits for 2026-27 and check ndis.gov.au for current figures.
How do I start NDIS support in Brisbane?
Call 1300 543 123 or fill in our find your support worker form. We will talk about your goals, your routine and the type of worker you would like.
Our office is in Sydney, so in Queensland we recruit and match workers who live near you. Once we find good options, we send you their profiles. You choose who you want to meet.
The meet and greet happens at home or somewhere you feel relaxed. Family and support coordinators are welcome to join. If the worker suits you, we set up a service agreement and agree on a start date.
Switching from another provider is simple. We help you understand your current notice period and handle the paperwork with you.
Not sure what your plan covers yet? We can explain how core supports work and what questions to ask your support coordinator or plan manager.
