What are NDIS cleaning services?

NDIS cleaning services are household support for participants who find cleaning hard because of their disability. A worker helps with tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, bathrooms, kitchens, laundry and changing linen. Cleaning can be regular or one-off, and you can join in to build your own household skills if you want to.

People who live alone or with others and need help keeping up with housework.

People whose energy varies day to day

Participants who manage some tasks themselves and want help with the heavier or harder jobs.

Families and carers

Households where carers want help with domestic tasks so they can focus on other supports.

Support coordinators

Coordinators who need reliable household support for participants with Personal Domestic Activities funding.

Does the NDIS cover cleaning services?

Yes, the NDIS can cover cleaning when your disability makes household tasks hard to do yourself and it is part of your plan.

Cleaning is usually funded from the Assistance with Daily Life category of your Core supports budget, under the support called Assistance with Personal Domestic Activities. This has its own price limit, which is lower than the limit for self-care supports.

The NDIS considers what is reasonable and necessary. It generally funds help with tasks you cannot do because of your disability, rather than all cleaning in a shared household. If you live with others, they may be expected to share usual housework.

To estimate how many hours your budget might stretch to, try our NDIS support hours calculator. For a full breakdown of current limits, read our guide to NDIS price limits for 2026-27.

What happens during an NDIS cleaning visit?

During a cleaning visit, your worker completes the household tasks you agreed on, in the order and way you prefer.

For example, someone might book a two-hour visit each Tuesday. The worker starts with the bathroom and kitchen, changes the bed linen, puts on a load of washing and finishes by vacuuming and mopping the living areas. Before leaving, they check whether anything else needs attention next week.

You can keep a simple checklist on the fridge so the worker knows your priorities. Some people prefer the worker to use their own products for allergies or scent preferences, so let us know what you would like used.

If you want to take part, the worker can do tasks with you, such as folding laundry together or showing you an easier way to clean the shower.

Who does the cleaning: a cleaner or a support worker?

Your cleaning can be done by a dedicated cleaner or by a support worker, depending on what you need and who is available locally.

If you only need housework done, a worker focused on cleaning may suit you best. If you would also like help with a meal, a shop or personal care during the same visit, a support worker can combine tasks as your plan allows.

Either way, we match on reliability, language, culture and personality, and you see profiles before you choose. You meet your worker at a meet and greet before visits begin, so you know who is coming into your home.

Having the same person each week also means they learn where things go and how you like your home kept.

How getting started works

Four steps from your first call to your first shift. You stay in control of who works with you.

  1. Tell us about you

Call or send an enquiry. We ask about your goals, routine, language, culture, interests and the support you need.

  2. Review worker profiles

We shortlist workers who fit and send you their profiles, so you can see who they are before deciding.

  3. Meet and greet

Meet your preferred worker before supports start. If it does not feel right, we find someone else.

  4. Supports begin

We agree your service agreement and roster, then check in regularly to make sure things are working.

What families say about us

Reviews from families we support, as posted on public review sites.

Would highly recommend to any family or individual with disability. My son has autism and type 1 diabetes and requires care on a daily basis. My wife and I have been through multiple NDIS providers, which were lacking compassion and care that suited my son's needs, until a family friend recommended us Enrichment Care. Whom were friendly and well driven to provide my son the quality of care he needs. Our carer Jasmine has been excellent with us and has gone over and beyond our expectations and is my son's favourite carer.

Great service. Sam from Enrichment Care was able to match us with a Korean-speaking disability support worker, who has helped my daughter with Angelman syndrome.

Through working with Enrichment Care, I actually felt like Maung was receiving the quality of care that he required and we didn't feel like a client and more like a friend who was in need of help. They gave us a permanent, Burmese speaking support worker (Saw) which was great in elevating language barriers and now Maung considers him to be his best friend.

NDIS cleaning: common questions

See all FAQs

How much do NDIS cleaning services cost?

NDIS cleaning is charged at or below the national price limit for Assistance with Personal Domestic Activities, set in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Providers can charge less than the limit. Check ndis.gov.au for the latest figures, and ask us for a quote based on the hours and tasks you need.

How do I book NDIS cleaning with Enrichment Care?

Call 1300 543 123 or fill in our find your support worker form. Tell us what tasks you need, how often and your preferred days. We send profiles of local workers, arrange a meet and greet and start visits once your service agreement is in place.

Can I get a one-off deep clean through the NDIS?

A one-off deep clean may be possible if it fits your plan and is reasonable and necessary, for example before regular cleaning starts. What is covered depends on your plan and circumstances. Talk to us or your support coordinator about whether a deep clean suits your budget.

Do I need to provide cleaning products and equipment?

Usually you provide your own cleaning products and equipment, such as a vacuum and mop, so the worker can use what you prefer. If you have allergies or sensitivities, tell us and your worker will use only the products you choose.

Can my worker help me learn to clean for myself?

Yes. If you want to build household skills, your worker can do tasks alongside you, show you simpler methods and gradually step back. Tell us at the start so we can match you with a worker who enjoys teaching as well as cleaning.
